Designing for Wellness

Creating Spaces that Nurture Mental and Physical Health

In this talk from Nina Nazarov Hambly of Catch Architecture, we'll explore how the built environment—our homes, workplaces, and public spaces—can either support or hinder our mental and physical health. We'll cover how thoughtful design choices can enhance overall well-being and how to identify environments that are not just functional but also support a healthier, balanced life.

As women in business, we often find ourselves juggling multiple roles, striving for success while also seeking balance. Creativity isn’t just a tool for innovation; it’s a vital resource for crafting environments that nurture our well-being. By integrating creative design principles into our business practices, we can create spaces that inspire and sustain us. Today, we'll explore how the intersection of creativity and thoughtful design can empower us to build environments—both in our personal and professional lives—that enhance productivity, reduce stress, and promote a healthier, more balanced way of living. Learn and lean into practices that utilize light, nature, and color theory for overall wellbeing and productivity.

Menu Choices for Bang the Drum Brewery:

Note: For Vegan or Gluten Free Options, see below.

All pies come with a kale side salad.

  • Chicken Pot Pie: Made with onions, celery, carrots, cream, peas, rosemary and thyme, all baked within our house-made all-butter crust.
  • Mac & Beer Cheese Pie: Made with Dublin cheddar, mozzarella and their house amber lager.
  • Steak & Draca Pie: Made with slow-cooked brisket with onions, gravy and our house smoked porter, all baked within our house-made all-butter crust. Comes with side of house-made pickled onions.
  • Spicy Curry Veggie Pie (Gluten Free -OR- Vegan): The spicy veggie curry has sweet potatoes, potato, carrots, onions, peas and corn with curry spices and coconut milk and oil. The filling has no gluten or dairy/meat products.     NOTE: The crust of the Spicy Curry Veggie Pie makes it GF or Vegan. The Gluten-Free crust is made with real butter and a blend of gluten free ingredients. The Vegan crust is made with unbleached flour with vegan butter. The combination of vegan butter and gluten free "flour" doesn't make a good crust for the pies, so it is either one or the other.
  • Delicata Squash Pie (Gluten-free option available): Savory pie made with carmelized onions, roasted delicata squash, goat cheese and sage, all baked within our house-made all-butter crust.
  • Kale Salad: This is a larger (3x) portion of the kale side salad. It is dressed with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic and salt.
