SMALL BUSINESS NEWS & UPDATESOpportunities offered by the RTA The RTA has opportunities for small and disadvantaged businesses for contract work. They are also looking for ideas on improvements to their operation. Here are some links and details about the opportunities, who is eligible and how to apply. Information on the certification process can be found on the Caltrans website found here: https://dot.ca.gov/programs/civil-rights/dbe-certification-information The draft goal that the RTA has set for the next three years and what projects the RTA has identified can be found here: https://www.slorta.org/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/RTA-FY-24-26-Goal-Setting-Methodology-DRAFT.pdf Disadvantaged does include small businesses (based on net worth). Contracting services requires our agency to go out to bid for projects, but those that are registered as DBE will receive additional notices from the RTA that we are going out to bid. Additionally, part of the process is to see if the community has something that might support the RTA that we aren't thinking of. This could be something like how the buses get washed and a local business has something that the RTA should consider. COMMUNITY CALENDAR
