Placing a loved one at a care facility usually leaves the caregiver dealing with a wide array of emotions that are all over the place.

As a survivor of my mom's 7-year walk with Alzheimer's and the Family Support Coordinator at Sydney Creek since 2010, I can help you. Through this class I will teach you how to have easier, better visits, new coping skills, how to prevent some common catastrophes, how to actually enjoy this new living situation and how to simply make life easier on both you and your loved one.

Class will meet from 6-8pm Mon., June 27 AND July 11, at Cuesta College. The class is just $65 (both sessions) and you can register at:

My sweet friend Sonya Crist shares her Plexus story:

"Just over 2 years ago, I was barely hanging on. I went from bed to the couch, I was in a lot of pain, and had no energy. I was sad, because I could not be the wife and mom I wanted to be. I have been a volunteer AEMT with my local fire and rescue dept, and love it, but I nearly quit, because I could not function!
Then my aunt told me about Plexus. Sometimes I wonder- what if she hadn't told me? Where would I be?
Now, I'm thriving. I feel great. I'm the mom, wife, and volunteer I want to be. And I'm helping so many achieve their dreams too!
So, what if no one had ever told me? I know that you know people who need what we have. Invite them along. Pick them up. There's room! But don't hold back something that could change their lives."
