A Mindful Journey to Calm the Nervous System

Join us for a nourishing evening designed to gently ease anxiety, quiet the mind, and restore a sense of inner calm and safety.

We will begin with a simple, accessible mindfulness practice focused on calming the nervous system and bringing awareness back into the present moment. This will be followed by a guided vocal sound practice to support vagal nerve activation, helping the body shift out of stress and into rest-and-restore. These are supportive practices you can carry with you, using them daily or whenever anxiety begins to surface.

From there, you’ll be invited to lie back and receive a deeply relaxing Sound Journey, where waves of healing sound and vibration guide you into a state of rest, regulation, and renewal. The soundscape may include singing bowls, gongs, chimes, drums, and other intentional instruments, creating a safe container for release and relaxation.

This experience is supportive for anyone feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or simply in need of a pause. No prior experience with mindfulness or vocalization is needed — all practices are gentle, optional, and guided with care.

Come as you are. Leave feeling calmer, more grounded, and more at home in your body.

Be sure to register in advance!

     THIS IS YOUR NIGHT!!!

On January 23rd at Libertine in downtown SLO, something pretty damn historic is happening…

Hot Tina - the only all-female band in the Five Cities
    meets
Babes Against the Machine - the only all-female Rage Against the Machine tribute

    Two all-women bands.
    One stage.
    Zero compromise.

This isn’t just a show - it’s a full-volume celebration of women who take up space, make noise, and refuse to be background music.

SLOWN member Theresa Layne will be on stage behind the drums with Hot Tina, bringing her signature fire and fearless energy to kick off the night before Babes Against the Machine takes over with Rage’s legendary sound, re-claimed through women’s voices and bodies.

If you’ve ever wanted to stand in a room full of women who are bold, loud, talented, and unafraid to be seen, this is your night.

It’s a ticketed show and it will sell out.
    Libertine Brewing Company, SLO
    January 23

    Come support women in music.
    Come feel powerful.
Come be part of something that doesn’t happen often around here.

We can’t wait to rage with you.

  • December 20, 2025 5:00 PM | Heather Wethington

Join us for an evening of reflection, connection, and renewal as we celebrate the turning of the year. The Winter Solstice marks the longest night and the quiet promise of returning light — a sacred pause between what has been and what’s to come.

We’ll share a simple supper together and gather around an altar honoring the five elements — earth, air, fire, water, and spirit. Through intention and reflection, we’ll say farewell to the dark half of the year and welcome the growing light that follows.

Oracle and tarot decks will be available for personal insight, and you’ll have space to journal and integrate your reflections.

Come as you are — to slow down, reconnect, and honor this moment of balance and becoming in the company of women.

$20.25 to attend. Please Venmo @Heather-Wethington-1 to secure your seat.

Held at a private residence in Paso Robles. Address shared with RSVP.

Darkness to Light — Honoring the Turning of the Wheel

As the earth tilts toward the light once more, we gather in rhythm and reverence to honor the turning of the season. The Winter Solstice calls us to pause — to breathe, to listen, and to remember the light that lives within even the quietest of days.

The Winter Solstice marks the mid-point of winter and brings the promise of new beginnings as we move out of the darkness and into increasingly lighter, warmer days.

Through the heartbeat of the drum, we’ll journey together — releasing what is ready to be set free, planting seeds of new intention, and celebrating the warmth that rises when community gathers in joy and gratitude.

Feel the pulse of life as we drum together, connecting with the grounding rhythms of Earth and the season, keeping our spirits warm and cheery.

    1. Community Potluck: Our time together will begin with a potluck to share warmth, nourishment, and gratitude. Bring a dish that represents warmth, comfort, or light (soups, breads, golden foods).
    2. Drumming to celebrate life, rhythm, renewal, and relationship - to self, to earth, to one another through drumming, rhythmic meditation, song, and storytelling.
    3. Winter Solstice rituals and activities may include Intention Setting, a Release and Renewal Ceremony to let go of the old and welcome the light, and more!

If you're feeling the tenderness of the season or carrying the weight of loss and aren't sure about coming - please come!!! Here, no one needs to be alone. We’ll hold space for one another in kindness, connection, and the shared rhythm of our hearts.

Facilitated Drumming Experience - NO drumming experience required!

Led by Dee DiGioia of Mindful Kindful YOUniversity, this facilitated "Joyful Rhythms" Drum Circle offers a welcoming environment for all - whether you've never touched a drum before—or you’ve been drumming for years—there’s a place for you in the circle.

Unlike traditional open drum circles, Dee gently guides participants in a structured, intentional experience designed to inspire connection, build community, and nourish the spirit. Feel the uplifting energy as rhythm resonates through your heart, invigorates your body, and nourishes your soul.

Learn more: "About Joyful Rhythms Drumming Circles"

Drums and percussion instruments will be provided (and you’re welcome to bring your own).

    No drumming experience is needed.

Together, we drum in the light — and remember that we belong.

    Location

Join us at Eagles Landing Ranch, atop Prefumo Canyon (San Luis Obispo), offering breathtaking views of Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, and the Irish Hills. Our gracious hosts are Ann and Sam Gonzalez.

Embrace the warmth of community in a safe, welcoming space, surrounded by winter’s beauty and breathtaking views at the ranch.

We will be outdoors on the deck (image above) so dress accordingly. (If the weather is too cold or wet we'll be inside.)

Come celebrate the gifts of winter together, creating harmony through the power of rhythm and connection.
